Program Goals: On-going, self-paced program. This program helps students prepare for the ACT and SAT tests. Using The Princeton Review Self-Paced ACT and SAT program will help students be better prepared to take these test. Students can work from home and at their own pace. Each participating student will receive access to their individualized Online Student Portal for 365 days. Scholarships available.
Description: This course is available for 365 starting on the day you register for the course. (Please disregard the "Date 8/24/21" and "Time" listed above.) This is an online, self-paced course that includes instructional videos, drills, and practice tests for both the SAT and the ACT.
The cost is only $50 and student have access 24 hours a day, for 365 days.


SAT Prep Strategies (Sat 8:00-3:45 p.m.)

Audience: Open to Western North Carolina middle and high school students

Program Goals: *Learn strategies for Reading * Comprehension * Learn strategies for 5 levels of mathematics questions. * Learn strategies for sentence completion
Description: The SAT Prep Strategies course is designed by Dr. Joseph Aicher, Jr., retired Professor of Political Science, for students in grades 7-12 to increase their potential for a higher SAT score. Students will learn the strategies for reading comprehension, five levels of mathematics questions, sentence completion and essay writing. Students will take a mock SAT test. Lunch and snacks provided.

Dr. Aicher will provide a five minute consultations for each student and parent(s) with test scores and recommendations on preparation and strategies for score improvement. This will be a one-on-one consultation between 4:15pm to 5:45pm on Saturday. It is strongly encouraged for the parent or guardian to attend the consultation with the student. The course is limited to 25 students for each session. Students with a prior history of enrollment in MAHEC health career programming and MAHEC interns receive priority.
